I'll update the map to represent the 61101 ZIP code area (Rockford, Illinois) in the power outage tracker.
I've updated the map to represent the 61101 ZIP code area in Rockford, Illinois. The new map includes:
The same five restoration zones with their respective time windows:
The map maintains all the interactive features from before, including the ability to zoom, pan, and add pins to specific locations.
Each restoration zone should be a diverse, abstract polygon, not a square. They should also be in an asymmetric, organic formation.
When I click on a restoration zone's polygon, I should be able to see information about that zone. That would include the number of households impacted, estimated restoration time, and the community resources in that area supporting during the outage.
I'll update the map with organic, asymmetric zone polygons and add interactivity to show zone-specific information when clicked.
I've updated the power outage tracker with organic, asymmetric zone polygons and added interactivity to show detailed information when a zone is clicked. Here's what's new:
When you click on a zone, a detailed information panel appears showing:
Community Resources - Available resources in that zone, including:
Each community resource includes:
The information panel can be closed by clicking the X button in the top right corner, allowing you to return to the map view.
The zones are also visually highlighted when selected, with increased opacity and a border to make it clear which zone you're viewing information for.
The information about the zone should be included in popups that do not cover the full screen, but are small scrollable windows.
The restoration time key should be below the map, rather than on top of it.
The zones should be closer together, and polygons with many sides rather than organic circles.
