I've significantly improved the close experience by adding a semi-transparent backdrop overlay that appears when a citation is open, making it visually clear that clicking anywhere will close it. The citation card now animates in smoothly with a fade and zoom effect, and I've added an explicit close button (X icon) next to the citation icons for users who prefer a direct close action. The backdrop has a subtle blur effect that focuses attention on the open citation while making the clickable close area obvious.
