Cisco FTD Upgrade Guide

Please make a presentation on to guide customers through the end-to-end upgrade process of your Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC) to the latest stable version available in the Cisco software inventory.

Please include the upgrade process as below:-

FTD & FMC Upgrade Presentation – Scenario 4 Objective: Upgrade NGFW1 to the latest FTD version (7.4.1-172) using a secondary source.

Pre-Upgrade Checks Verify Current FTD Version

Navigate to FMC > Device Management > NGFW1 to confirm the existing software version.

Download Upgrade Package

Access the Kali Linux server (root/C1sco12345) and verify the package:

bash cd /var/www/html/files ls -la # Confirm Cisco_FTD_Upgrade-7.4.1-172.sh.REL.tar exists 2. Add Upgrade Package to FMC In FMC, go to System > Product Upgrades.

Click Add Upgrade Package and select URL as the source.

Click Save.

Confirm the package appears under Software Update Sources.

Initiate FTD Upgrade Select the 7.4.1-172 upgrade package and click Upgrade.

Device Selection:

Add NGFW1 to the selection.

Choose Copy Upgrade Package and Continue.

Pre-Upgrade Checks:

Click Run Readiness Check (monitor progress under Tasks).

Resolve any warnings before proceeding.

Start Upgrade:

Review warnings and click Start Upgrade.

Monitor status via View Details.

Post-Upgrade Validation Confirm Completion:

Wait for the upgrade to finish (check Tasks).

Click Close when done.

Verify Version:

Go to Device Management and confirm NGFW1 shows Version 7.4.1.

Redeploy Policies:

Redeploy configurations to NGFW1.
